When you use the ScienceAtHome website or play our games, you trust us with your information. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We hope you will take the time to read it carefully.
Scienceathome.org collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, and anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your gender, or age. There is also information about your computer's hardware and software that is automatically collected by ScienceAtHome.

This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access time, and referring website addresses. ScienceAtHome also collects the data of your playthroughs of the games.

This information is used only within Aarhus University and collaborating research institutions. The information is used only for scientific purposes, such as computer optimization of the playthroughs, data analysis of learning in the games, and computer modelling. Scientific publications may be written based on the analysis of this data.

We will use the data only for scientific purposes. We will not share the data with any institution outside of Aarhus University or affiliated research institutions. We will not make the your personal data publicly available in any way.

If you have allowed it we will notify you about new games or other content through your email, otherwise it will be announced on the site.

According to the Data Protection Act, personal information is kept secure and confidential. We store your personal information on computers with limited access, which are located in controlled facilities, and our security is checked regularly to determine whether our user information is handled properly – always with due deference to your rights as a user.. However, we cannot guarantee 100%data transmissions over the Internet.. This means that there may be a risk of others gaining unauthorized access to information when data is transmitted and stored electronically. Thus, you provide personal information at your own risk.

Personal information is deleted or made anonymous on an ongoing basis when the purpose of collection is completed. If you have been inactive on our platform for more than 2 years, we will automatically delete your account.
